BRUNEI will host BRIDEX 2013, its fourth Brunei Darussalam International Defence exhibition from December 3-6 and its conference on December 2.
The BRIDEX 2013 theme, “Bridging the Capability Gap”, intends to highlight the role of technology in addressing national defence needs, both traditional and non-traditional, in line with the Ministry ofDefence’s current development priorities, which include recognising the ability of technology to enhance the kinetic impact of its forces, especially in terms of developing and improving its medium-range airdefence.
AVIBRAS will be joining the BRIDEX 2013, along with many previous exhibitors – ST Engineering,Roketsan, Sikorsky and Harris Corporation.
AVIBRAS joined aircraft manufacturer Embraer SA and AEL Sistemas SA in developing unmanned aircraft in Brazil. AVIBRAS took a nine per cent stake in a joint venture known as Harpia Systems, which will expand its lineup to include the Falcao unmanned aircraft that AVIBRAS has developed for Brazil’s Air Force.
In the area of defence, AVIBRAS’ main products are the worldwide known multicalibre ASTROS II (Artillery saturation rocket system) and the SKYFIRE-70 70mm air-to-ground rocket system).
